So Sweet

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing my latest card that follows a sketch from JustRite Stampers and a photo inspiration from The Shabby Tea Room.

You are asked to create a card or project inspired by our beautiful inspiration photo USING PINK, GREEN, RUFFLES and RIBBONS!

My design began with the papers. I love the My Minds Eye Lost and Found papers so I began from there. I die cut an oval using Spellbinders opulent ovals and layered it. I moved on to the background papers. I inked, distressed and stitched the edges of my background papers. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create a frame around it. Then I layered my elements. I decided it needed some bling so I added some rhinestone flourishes plus my last Want to Scrap labels bling to frame my stamped sentiment. Ruffled ribbon, a bow and a butterfly complete my card.

Supplies:

Paper: My Minds Eye Lost and Found Market Street, Kaisercard ballet, Stampin' Up! very vanilla

Stamp: JustRite Stampers Just the Right Words

Ink: Versafine onyx black, antique linen distress ink

Other: Spellbinders opulent ovals and fancy tags two, Martha Stewart mini daisy punch, Want to Scrap fancy tags two white, Ctampin' Up! vintage brad, Ruby Rock-it Reminisce trimmings, Art Stamps butterfly, Bella bling swirl, ribbon, Becca's peg bow maker, Zutter Distrezz it all.

Hello everyone! I am so happy to announce that I have been accepted to be part of the Kaisercraft Design Team for 2013-2014. You can read the blog post here.

As part of round two in the selection process, we were asked to complete cards, layouts and an off the page project using the collections they sent. I created a set of three mixed media canvases as part of my submission. I enjoyed creating the canvases and am enjoying the mixed media experience.

I am still getting used to the idea that I will be part of an amazing team. Am nervous and excited all the same.

Just Believe

Hello everyone. I am sharing another card. This time I have selected a sketch from The Sweet Stop and the inspiration challenge from The Ribbon Reel. You are asked to create a card / project inspired by the photo and include PEARLSRIBBON & LACE/TWINE.

I started my card by looking at my papers. I went with some My Minds Eyes papers as there were a number of lovely pink patterned papers in the collection. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create a border to frame the patterned papers. Next I added some lace and ribbon.

I haven't used a quote in a while and pulled out a Stampin' Up! stamp set and used the quote from there. While the die was still on. I sponged the edges using a distress ink. I used foam tape between all the layers. I added some pearls, flowers and a butterfly to complete my card.

Supplies:

Paper: My Minds Eye Lost and Found, Kaisercard ballet, Stampin' Up! very vanilla

Stamp:  Stampin' Up! Just Believe

Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, distress ink spun sugar

Other: Spellbinders classic rectangles small, timeless rectangles and les papillions two, Martha Stewart deco flowers punch, Memory Box elegant scrollwork, Kaisercraft pearls, ribbon and lace.

Kindy

Hello everyone! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend. It's a long weekend here in Australia...three days!! I decided to use this time to create another page for my brother's scrapbook. I selected his kindy photo to use this time. Looking at the colours of the photo I decided to use some of my Maja Designs papers. I just love the vintage feel they have and the versatility of the ranges.

After I had used a punch to punch the edges of my background paper, I used a mask and some gesso to add some subtle texture. I repositioned it and used only small sections on both corners.

I used some Dusty Attic chippies. I applied a layer of gesso and inked the edges. Once dry, I applied some crackle medium to create an aged effect.

I had used some banners on my layout. When I die cut them they were only 6", but I joined them together behind the circular element...you cant see the joins. I also used one as a place to add my title. I decided to add a thin border around each, to help them stand out.

Supplies:

Paper : Maja Designs Vintage Summer Basics, Kaisercard chocolate, Su! crumb cake

Ink: Distress ink walnut stain

Other: Martha Stewart swirling lace punch, Sizzix fancy rectangle frame, Die-namics fishtail flags, Manor House Creations leaves small, Dusty Attic flourish #7 and dusty in bloom, The Crafters Workshop circle template, Prima stencil, Jo Sonjas crackle medium, gesso, Websters Pages alpha.

You're So Sweet

Hello everyone. I am sharing my latest card with you that I have created. I followed a few things week to create my card, a sketch, inspiration photo and a mood board.

At The Shabby Tea Room, you are asked to create a card or project inspired by THE COLORS FROM THE PHOTO, INCLUDE FLOWERS AND A TEA THEME!

To create my background, I used a Martha Stewart border punch to create a mat. I layered it with some pink cardstock followed by papers from Maja Design. I distressed the edges and sewed around the edge. I started layering by adding some complimentary papers, lace and seam binding. I stamped my sentiment and coloured it in using my SU! markers.

I had a resin teapot, which I placed upon some cardstock. I added some foam tape to add some dimension. Of course my cards always have a bow and some flowers!

The sketch that I used is from Mojo Monday. The mood board is from Maja Designs. The mood board provides some inspiration for you to be creative. It's a great concept, especially when you have some beautiful papers to create with.

Supplies:

Paper: Maja Designs vintage summer basics, SU! very vanilla

Stamp: JustRite You're so sweet set

Ink: Versafine vintage sepia

Other: Martha Stewart eyelet lace and doily lace punches, Spellbinders picot edge circles, lacey circles, standard circles small, Memory Box Amira flourish, Melissa Frances resin teapot, Ruby Rock-It lace, seam binding, Hooked on Craft flowers, doily.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cherish ~Maja Design Papers~

Hello everyone. I am back again to share another card that I have made. This time it follows the photo inspiration from The Ribbon Reel. You are asked to create a card / project using VIOLETS & GREENS and include RIBBON(S) & FLOWER(S).

I haven't created a dimensional flower lately and decide that a hydrangea would be perfect. I used a Martha Stewart punch and punched out lots of small hydrangea petals. Using a stylus and a mouse mat, I pressed down the centre of each to cup the petals, which rounds them and adds dimension. I stamped my hydrangea image twice and coloured in using my Stampin' Up! markers. I cut both out and attached them together with some foam tape. I then added the cupped petals on top.

Supplies:

Paper: Maja Designs Ska vi ta en Fika, Kaisercard latte, DCWV brights, Stampin' Up! very vanilla and watercolour paper

Stamp: JustRite Botanical Medallions and Banners

Ink: Memento tuxedo black and grape jelly, Stampin' Up! markers

Other: Martha Stewart hydrangea punch, Die-namics fancy flourish, Spellbinders nestabilities floral ovals, JustRite nested oval medallions, ribbon, lace, stylus, mouse pad, Distrezz it All, Becca's peg bow maker.

Thanks for stopping by!
